Brussels restaurant guide

Food!Lists are nice. I’m a big fan of “best of” lists as they help me keep things in one place for future reference. By viewing lists compiled by other people you can get new ideas and refine your own lists. It’s fun and useful. This time, I’ve put together a list of restaurants in Brussels that I particularly like. This is not exactly a “best of” list. It’s merely a collection of restaurants I’ve found to be good and not too expensive. In Brussels you can’t have a bad meal even if you wanted to!

Great list, Aki. Just moved to Brussels recently, so this is very useful. I love Korean food and I didn’t know there was a Korean restaurant here, so I’m happy now!

Sorry, but this is not a very good list, or it’s not up to date.

your list of belgian/french restaurants is just sad, there are SO MANY better places !

les Salons de L’Atalaide is just horible, and “Le Crachin” in the Rue de Flandres is WAY better than La Maison des Crepes (for french pancakes)

Indus Valley closed years ago (i liked it)

La Brace is just a Pizzeria, and not even one of the best, try Sale Pepe & Rosmarino, rue Berckmans, everything there is good, and they also make the best pizza in Brussels.

your list of Thai/Vietnamese restaurants is so-so, les Larmes du Tigre is obviously very good, and so it should be, what about Tom Yam, Davi, etc ?

You are absolutely right about la Friterie Martin, but it closed in december 2009

to recap, go and discover the hundreds of great belgian and italian restaurants in brussels :)

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your comment and for listing some of your favourite restaurants. You’re right, my list was partly outdated (I updated the post accordingly).

La Brace is one of the best pizza places in town (the Italians I know agree with me). I’ll have to try the one you suggested.

As I mentioned in my original post, there are countless other good restaurants in Brussels – thanks for sharing with us the ones you like!
