I’m a User Interface Developer / Accessibility Advocate who enjoys observing, identifying solutions, and eliminating barriers to using digital products and services. As empathic Thought Partner, I can contribute throughout the business from research, concept and prototypes to delivery. I’m especially experienced in digital accessibility and inclusive design language systems. I want to create meaningful and inclusive digital products that help users achieve their goals.
I enjoy researching, identifying problematic patterns, asking lots of questions, challenging the status quo, solving meaningful problems for users, thinking ahead, prioritizing tasks, and helping improve the ways cross-functional agile teams work together. I also love learning new skills by listening and observing others, reading, learning by doing, and in general, changing things for the better. I’m equally interested in inclusive and responsive design language systems, CSS architecture, accessibility (WCAG 2.0, WAI-ARIA), user experience, usability, educational technology/e-learning, knowledge sharing and mindfulness.
During the last 15 years, I’ve been working for NGOs, SMEs, e-commerce start-ups, corporations, media organizations and digital communication agencies both in Belgium and Denmark.
Finland 1999—2002: Graduated (2002) from the University of Jyväskylä with a degree of MSc in Economics and Business Administration. I majored in Information Systems Science and minored in multimedia, marketing and music.
Belgium 2003—2010: Worked as Designer, Accessibility Specialist and Developer for various organizations and agencies in Brussels.
